My client an award winning, rapidly growing and dynamic IT Managed Services Solution Provider, with proven excellence in delivering Microsoft Cloud and Infrastructure solutions are seeking a Technical Solutions Design Consultant to work with customers in a pre sales capacity taking responsibility for designing technical solutions for customer requirements.
In this role you will work with the Head of Managed Services engaging with clients, understanding client requirements, architecting fit for purpose solutions and proposing these back to customers.
This is a great opportunity to move up into Solutions Design Consulting or to move into an organisation where you can take further responsibility for Technical Solutions Design and Presales.
  • Consult with customers (onsite or remote) to understand technical requirements, provide Pre-Sales consultations & workshops, draft specifications and present design concepts during the sales process
  • Support commercial teams in producing quality sales proposals and responses to Tender requests/proposals with solutions that are technically sound, Commercially viable and approved by the company for prospects / customers during the Pre-Sales process, including creating relevant design documentation as necessary
  • Provide ad-hoc consultancy to our customers, analysing their infrastructure and making recommendations
  • Providing onsite assistance for solutions or issues requiring a senior engineer resource
  • Providing assistance with the Management of ongoing technical issues for the larger clients, liaising with customers and internal staff and formulating solutions to address issues
  • Plan timescales, assess resource requirements and draft handover documents in collaboration with the post sales teams
  • Developing High and Low-Level design documents whilst retaining a highly-flexible approach to change
  • Interacting with senior stakeholders – both customer and internal
  • Providing feedback and recommendations regarding our presales process. Assistance with implementing these changes
  • Feed-back on issues with current products and provide input around new / alternative products
  • Provide accurate and timely monthly information to include - activity reports, bid reviews, project forecasts, KPI's
Technical requirements
  • 3+ years professional development within the IT consulting, technology and solutions arena
  • Has recently worked for a Managed Service Provider
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Cloud technologies
  • Experienced with Exchange Online Migration strategies and tooling
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Collaboration technologies, their implementation, use cases and best practice. Specifically, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and Skype for Business
  • Solid understanding of modern authentication protocols, Security Management, Access Management, Monitoring
  • Understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends.
Desirable skills but not essential
  • Experience with Enterprise Mobility and Security (EM+S) suite of products and deployment strategies
  • Working knowledge of AGILE project management principles or similar
  • Understanding of Azure, VMware, Citrix XenApp and/or XenDesktop platforms
Non-Technical Skills
  • Proven track-record of supporting the sales process through the technical enablement of the solution – from performing information gathering, solution design and high-level approach scoping
  • Proven track-record of driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts & ensuring follow through.
  • Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences.
  • Prior work experience working for a Managed Service Provider
  • Problem-solving mentality leveraging internal and/or external resources.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication.
  • Can do attitude. Provide solutions to problems
