On site Third Line support and Project Engineer - Cisco Networking and Infrastructure - VMware, Windows, Citrix - London - £45,000 - £50,000 + OT

 

My client are a top leading managed service provider who specialise in the financial sector. They provide services to high profile, prestigious, hedge funds and asset management companies within London. They are currently at 40 staff with 20% growth year on year. Their clients have assets under management of more than £100 Billion who they enable and support on a day to day basis. Their clients operate all over the world including New York and Hong Kong along with having great partners such as Cisco, VMware, Microsoft, Citrix.

 

The role of an on site third line support/project engineer it to provide predominantly third line support to their clients as well as performing upgrades and migrations on site. You will be required to act as the "go to" person for all support related issues whilst on client site, ranging from first to third line performing troubleshooting, re-configuration and remote support if in the office. You will be "the face" of my client dealing with very professional, high profile individuals.

 

Package - Up To £45,000 - £50,000 + OT

 

Main Duties:

  • Provide 3rd line support for all clients where escalated from the support team or assigned, either over the phone utilising remote troubleshooting tools and techniques, or face to face interacting directly with the customer when necessary.
  • Respond to alerts as required including testing, debugging and troubleshooting and provide detailed information.
  • Engineer and implement technical solutions for clients to meet their needs including; physical/virtual Window Servers, network and security systems, desktop environments, remote access and mobility solutions, telephony and business applications.
  • Work with project managers to complete tasks and project deliverable, technical work and logistical operations, reporting of progress and risks and escalating functional, quality and timeline issues appropriately.
  • Lead by example to set the technical standards of the Company, actively promote first class customer service
  • Act as mentor to other Engineers in order to assist their development and progression through the Company.
  • Create technical project and system configuration documentation for handover to support team, overseeing all project transitions into production and support.
  • Communicate with clients in a courteous, efficient, effective and professional manner, keeping them updated and informed at all times.
  • Have a clear and detailed understanding of how technology relates to business strategies and goals.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the IT industry, with at least 2 years' in the financial/MSP sector.
  • Networking solutions; Cisco WAN/LAN, Routing/Switching, Security, Wireless etc.
  • Wintel technologies; Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange, SQL, IIS, SharePoint, Direct Access, Citrix, etc
  • Datacenter technologies; HP Servers, SAN Storage, VMware, Veeam etc.
  • Remote access & mobility: VPN, Terminal Services, Citrix, MDM etc.
  • Desktop technologies; Windows, Office, Bloomberg etc.
