My client a £500M+ Turnover Tier 1 IT Infrastructure and Cloud Solutions and Services Provider is building out a Management Team (following promotions and growth-focused restructure) to drive the teams growth and are looking for a manager to drive that journey!
Phenomenal opportunity to join award winning and fast growing yet established IT Solutions and Services Provider in a Presales Solutions Architecture Manager role responsible for the management of a highly successful, motivated and relevant team of Presales Architect who are responsible for providing Presales and Architecture Services to clients
The successful candidate will have a background in managing a Presales / Architecture / Consultancy Team at a Solutions or Service Provider, Consultancy, IT Reseller or Systems Integrator.
  • Manages and develops Presales team
  • Accountable for the current and future commercial success of their team, through effective management and forecasting and productive utilisation of their team, continually ensuring they are deployed on the most relevant work for their skill set, aspirations and location and that set individual, team and departmental KPI targets are met or exceeded.
  • In conjunction with Sales builds, tracks, maintains and reports on an engagement pipeline ensuring team’s skill sets are relevant or are made relevant, and/or to carry out recruitment / resourcing as needed, to meet anticipated demand.
  • Develops, retains, attracts and actively encourages dedicated, highly motivated and highly skilled talent and works proactively to strike an agreed balance between internal, contract and partner resources.
  • Prepares PMP and training/development plan documentation once a year with regular reviews for all staff, where reviews consist of measurement against set objectives, highlighting training and accreditation needs and a discussion about career aspirations and development.
  • Develops and regularly maintains skills matrix’s, training plans, career aspirations and succession plans
  • In conjunction with other Presales Managers, Consulting Managers and Vendor Managers, owns and champions vendor relationships ensuring minimum levels of vendor accreditations are maintained, and minimum spends are achieved, to obtain agreed levels of rebates.
  • Acts as a mentor and general escalation point for all work carried out by their team seeking out mentoring, shadowing, training to support where needed.
  • Ensures regular monthly team meetings are carried out with at least two of these being face to face each year.
  • Works with the wider organisation and partners on pre-sales and pipeline opportunities, assisting with exploratory client discussions, estimating resource costs, preparing bid responses and peer reviewing proposals.
  • Promotes Presales with all client-facing colleagues to ensure there is an awareness of capability, success and value for the services provided within their team and department.
  • For no more than 20% of their time (1 day per week maximum), measured as a monthly average, works with clients on self-assigned projects to provide additional support, guidance, issue resolution governance and/or client satisfaction to projects that need this.
  • Works closely with the Head of Presales to deliver the agreed strategic and cultural direction of the Presales department and general improvements to meet or exceed departmental KPIs.
  • Accountable for embracing and enhancing brand, and that of Presales inside and outside of org.
  • Stands in for the Head of Presales, when requested.
